Subtle wording choices in justice
In the UK it’s Jury Service. In the US it’s Jury Duty. In the UK it’s the Police Service. In the US it’s the Police Force. Words carry meaning.
An EV – an easy choice?
We just traded in our petrol / gas car for an electric car. What it feels like we did is actually this: We traded in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang for the Jetsons. There is a learning curve, not only to drive with aggressive regenerative braking, but also to charge your car, learn about the five different connectors, learn about where the connectors go and how. There’s a lot of new jargon. Actually not more than with gasoline / petrol, but we’re used to the status quo jargon.

It’s not thought-free, like driving to Shell and filling up, but if you live in a home with a driveway or have chargers in a parking lot, it’s a no-brainer. You’re effectively freed from going to a gas station unless you’re making an unusually long trip.
Project Hail Mary
I saw Project Hail Mary at the weekend with three of my favorite people. I think I need to watch it again. It’s like Interstellar (one of my favourite films) and The Martian had a film baby.
